There are many impressive, community-oriented people in your life, we’re sure, and so perhaps it’s time to help one such individual receive some recognition for their hard work.
If you know of someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the Adelaide community in the last year, the City of Adelaide Citizen of the Year awards is your chance to spotlight their achievements.

Held in partnership with the Australia Day Council (SA), the awards recognise members of our community and their achievements and contributions towards creating a better Adelaide.
The City of Adelaide’s awards comprise of four categories:
- Citizen of the Year, presented to the most outstanding citizen of the past year;
- Young Citizen of the Year, recognising exceptional young people under 30 years of age;
- Community Event of the Year, awarded to the person or group who staged the most outstanding community event during the past year;
- Award for Active Citizenship, presented to a person or group delivering outstanding work on an event or project for the community during the past calendar year
