International engineering, design and advisory company Aurecon has appointed Angus Leitch as its Managing Director of Victoria and South Australia Executive Director.

During more than 25 years with Aurecon, Leitch has led joint venture team boards and project steering committees on major projects across a number of market sectors.

He is also a member of Aurecon’s Australia and New Zealand Executive Leadership Team.

Aurecon Group Pty Limited Chair Mark Johnson said Leitch’s industry insights made him a valuable asset to help guide board decisions as Aurecon responded to challenges presented by COVID-19.

Winemaker, researcher and viticultural manager Tony Robinson has become Australian Wine Research Institute’s Business Development Manager.

Most recently, Robinson was Chief Operating Officer for the Y-Group Wine and Liquor Division in Western Australia, having previously worked as Grape and Wine Innovation Specialist at Treasury Wine Estates.

Robinson had also produced wines, published a number of peer-reviewed papers on sine chemistry and sensory science and had extensive involvement with industry bodies including as President of the Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology between 2017 and 2019.

Based at Waite’s Wine Innovation Cluster, AWRI is a global leader in wine industry research.

Digital Solutions Consultant Richard Boiwko has joined BDO Adelaide’s Technology Advisory team as an additional Associate Director.

Boiwko has more than 20 years of experience in IT and operational technology having started his career as an electrical engineer.

Most recently he held senior roles with international software company Adexflow Australia and engineering services company LogiCamms.

Technology Advisory Partner and National Leader, Technology Nick Kervin said Boiwko’s unique experience would “further strengthen BDO’s digital transformation service capacity and expand our delivery of innovative data technology solutions, particularly on large scale projects”.

Jacqueline Guerin has been named as Chief Financial Officer at SA Water.

It is a new role at SA Water with financial services responsibilities previously falling to general manager of business services Jamie Hollamby.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Hollamby has moved to Sydney Water.

Guerin has worked in senior financial roles within professional services, manufacturing, infrastructure and defence for more than 30 years.

She spent the past seven years as water, wastewater and environmental services company Trility CFO.

Earlier this year, SA Water appointed Amanda Lewry as General Manager of Asset, Operations and Delivery.

It followed more than a decade of leading client and consulting teams in the international water industry, including Icon Water, Mackay Water and, most recently, GHD.

Prior to this, Lewry worked across multiple sectors including mining, oil and gas, electricity generation, defence and local government.

Aged care not-for-profit Helping Hand has appointed SA Lieutenant Governor Brenda Wilson as its new board chair to replace retiring member Rosalie Pace.

The former Cancer Council SA CE began her career in nursing almost 40 years ago before moving into further study, clinical and managerial roles.

She now serves on a number of boards and committees, including as SA Health Clinical Quality and Innovation Committee Chair, Women’s and Children’s Health Network Board Director and as a council member for the Adelaide Community Health Care Alliance and Flinders University Council and Executive Council.

“Aged care is going through a very challenging time but that’s a good opportunity for us because it means we’re doing everything possible to ensure we provide the highest-level care to the people we serve,” Wilson said.

“It’s a great time to look at everything we’re doing, what we’re doing well and where we could be doing better.”

A statement from the company said Wilson brought significant experience managing health services along with a deep understanding of the aged care sector to the role.

The South Australian educational institution has named Emily Jenke as its council graduate member. Jenke will serve a two-year term starting in September.

Jenke is founder and CEO of SA community engagement business democracyCo and owns SA boutique olive oil producer Talinga Grove.

Since 2015, she has been the SA Native Vegetation Council Presiding Member, a Murray Darling Basin Community Committee member as well as a member of private, public and school boards.

Theresa Whiting has been named as the South Australian Museum Board’s new Presiding Member from August until December.

While Anne McDonald joins the Commissioner of the South Australian Employment Tribunal for a two-year term from September.

Criminal defence lawyer Ben Sale and former ICAC Executive Legal Officer Michelle Sutcliffe have been appointed to the Adelaide Magistrates Court, commencing August 17.

Attorney-General Vickie Chapman said Sale had more than 20 years’ experience in criminal law, including 12 years as a sole practitioner.

She said he had acted as defence counsel in numerous murder and manslaughter cases, appearing in the Court of Criminal Appeal on a number of complex matters and had represented clients in the Magistrates Court civil jurisdiction.

While Sutcliffe began her career as a Clerk for the Crown Solicitor’s Office and worked on matters as diverse as regulatory prosecutions, applications regarding serious and organised crime and high-risk offenders.

She was also involved in the establishment of the statutory office of the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption.
