There is less than a month left to vote for the Consumer Award in the South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards.
The Consumer Award goes to the South Australian food or beverage business that garners the most public votes before Monday 19 September.
Food South Australia CEO Catherine Sayer said that thousands of people have voted for their favourite companies over the years in the Consumer Award and that two winners were so iconic Food SA had to make a new award just for them.
“We have watched this award grow and grow, and we wanted very much to see the most outstanding businesses receive permanent and special recognition,” Sayer said.
She said they started the Consumer Award Legend For Life to recognise companies that have won three Consumer Awards, making it the highest accolade for a business to achieve.

“Our Consumer Award Legends For Life are not only favourites here in South Australia, they are also significant success stories in numerous markets interstate and overseas,” Sayer said.
She said the two current legends, Menz and Golden North, are industry favourites and have contributed widely to Food SA activities that drive industry-wide growth.
Once a brand is considered a legend, they are no longer eligible for the annual Consumer Award, giving an opportunity for other companies to be recognised.
Menz was the first Legend For Life member by winning the Consumer Award for the third time in 2018.

Menz CEO Phil Sims said that the award meant so much to Menz as their consumers are their community.
“They influence everything we do. They celebrate, as we do, love for our brand,” Sims said.
“It acknowledges our team, who put so much hard work in over the years, and as a business we are very humbled, and proud, to have the support of South Australian consumers right across the state.
Golden North joined Menz as a Legend For Life in 2021 with their third win.
Golden North Director of Sales Dimi Kyriazis said being a Consumer Legend For Life means a lot because the company tries hard to have a great relationship with their consumers.
“We want our consumers to be loyal to our brand. We put in a great effort to ensure that everything’s on point to make that happen,” Kyriazis said.
“The Consumer Award is a great measure of how strong our relationship is with our consumers.”
Voting for the Consumer Award, sponsored by Foodland Supermarkets, is as easy as clicking the link on your favourite food or beverage brand’s social media post, or the Food SA link, typing in their name and clicking enter. The business with the most votes will be awarded their title at the South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards Gala Dinner in November.
