For the next two weeks, InDaily will take a closer look at some of the 2025 40 Under 40. Today, meet the winner of the Inspiring Female Leaders Award.
At just 17 years old, Amber Brock-Fabel founded the South Australian Youth Forum, which grew into the state’s largest youth-led advocacy body.
She forged research partnerships leading to world-first findings on youth loneliness and has worked with governments to address period poverty and mental health access.
Brock-Fabel was the 2025 Young Australian of the Year for South Australia and represented her generation at New York’s United Nations Summit of the Future conference last year.
While she’s honoured by the big accolades, Brock-Fabel says the quiet moments, such as when a young person speaks up for the first time, affect her most.
CityMag journalist Claudia Dichiera said it was an “honour presenting the Inspiring Female Leaders Award to Amber”.
“Amber embodies the spirit of this award through founding the South Australian Youth Forum at just 17, which has inspired many to use their voice for good and move towards a better future that considers the opinions of young people,” she said.
Brock-Fabel joined a cohort of 39 other inspiring young leaders aged under 40 at a gala dinner in June.
