South of Adelaide sits the small town of Clarendon, where Emma Gilbert hopes to start a regenerative farming revolution.

The Farm – Clarendon puts sustainability at the heart of farming practices, agriculture and ethical breeding.

Gilbert specialises in breeding Highland cattle and rare heritage poultry, and has made a name for herself due to a commitment to high-quality genetics, livestock longevity and responsible breeding practices.

Meanwhile, Gilbert is also the founder of IncubatePro – a hatching app that provides real-time monitoring, expert insights and precision incubation tracking to improve hatch rates and chick viability.

Gilbert won the Rural and Regional Award, an accolade InDaily editorial director Jim Plouffe said was important because “we know that the regions are the engine room of the state’s economy”.

“It’s great to find a winner who is not only a primary producer but also a startup entrepreneur developing new products to help other farmers,” he said.

“Through Emma’s work on The Farm – Clarendon, the state will benefit from her knowledge of regenerative farming and her husbandry skills – all of which she is willing to share.

“I am sure we will hear lots more from Emma in the coming years.”

Gilbert joined a cohort of 39 other inspiring young leaders aged under 40 at a gala dinner in June.
